IMPACT Breast Cancer – Investigating Mental health Physical Activity and Cognition after Treatment for Breast Cancer

Division of Public Health Sciences

This pilot project is supported by the Center for Perioperative Mental Health and aims to 1: Characterize the relationships between physical activity (PA) and anxiety, depression, and cognitive function in the perioperative setting. And 2: Systematically explore the infrastructure necessary to support implementing a large-scale, healthcare-integrated prehabilitation PA program. Dr. Mary Politi is supporting the implementation science and stakeholder engagement components of the project.

This project is led by Dr. Liz Salerno.

The Center for Perioperative Mental Health(CPMH) is funded by a grant from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) (grant #1P50MH122351 – 01A1). In addition to the NIMH, the CPMH received seed funding from the Institute of Clinical and Translational Sciences (ICTS) in the form of a Special Translational Award Recipient (STAR) grant.
